Founded in 2008, Emo design is a team of designers and specialists working in the field of industrial and interaction design. The design studio develops projects for multiple product sectors based on a market-oriented approach, capable of using design research and creative expression as strategic tools for its customers. It has designed products for many sectors, such as bathroom furnishings, heating, household appliances, mobility and street furniture for companies all over the world, receiving various international design awards such as the German Design Award, Design Plus, iF Product Design Award, Red Dot Design Award, Good Design, ADA Design Award, Iconic Design Award.

After an important experience in Vienna, in 2008 Lukasz Bertoli opened his design studio with Carlo Ciciliot, the ‘business’ mind of the group.

“We are all involved In the creative process, even the interns”, says Lukasz. “Our work consists in the effort to always go beyond the obvious. Taking the exploratory phases of the project to exasperation. Never stopping at the first solutions. Never settling. Always trying to see things from unexplored points of view.”

“We never start from the object but from the necessity,” explains Lukasz. “Our projects are the result of a careful analysis of the company and the market, of its needs, of the interpretation of the values it wants to communicate. This is why they are often products that last over time.”

MCZ Group has been collaborating with Emo design since it was established. It was among the first companies to believe in the potential of the young team members, entrusting them with increasingly important projects.

Among the first works, Toba, winner of the iF Design Award 2011 and the first pellet stove to win such an important design award, and Scenario, an innovative project that combines a thermo-fireplace (gas or wood) and a plasma TV screen.
