What you need to know before purchasing
Who should I contact for pre-sales information?
Our dealers are at your disposal for all the information you may need before purchasing.
Which type of pellets are best for keeping the stove running efficiently and lasting longer?
Our advice is to use only certified pellets, preferably with quality marks such as EN Plus, Din Plus, Ö-Norm, or Pellet Gold. These certified pellets comply with European standards (EN 14961-2 Class A1 or A2), ensuring optimal heating performance and low ash residue—meaning the pellet heats efficiently and produces minimal dirt. In contrast, low-quality pellets can quickly dirty the stove and reduce its efficiency, leading to increased fuel consumption. Pellets with an excessively high calorific value can also damage the combustion chamber. Damage caused by the use of unsuitable pellets is not covered by the warranty.
What is a puffer and why is one recommended for use with hydro-stoves?
A puffer is a storage tank filled with technical water, used to store heat produced by the boiler, stove, or other systems, and release it to the radiators when needed.
The thermal storage allows the system to operate more efficiently, avoiding frequent on/off cycles, reducing energy waste, and keeping the product cleaner.
If the puffer also produces domestic hot water, it is even more useful, as it ensures a large quantity of instant hot water is always available—even when the stove is turned off.
A puffer is essential when the hydro stove is combined with solar panels or when there is underfloor heating.

What is the difference between a traditional open fireplace and a closed fireplace?
Traditional open fireplaces have a much lower level of productivity when compared to modern closed fireplaces. This means that with the same quantity of wood, they produce less heat. Furthermore, the inability to guarantee regulated combustion, results in greater pollution and the emission of eight times more particles than with a closed fireplace, using the same amount of energy. In order to thoroughly heat, both ecologically and economically, it is better to go for a modern closed stove with a closed firebox.
What about placing a fireplace in a corner as furnishing?
The wood-burning fireplaces by MCZ offer multiple solutions to furnish corners. Choose the cladding from our product catalogue, along with benches or other decorative elements that integrate perfectly in the corner of your room, or pick a three-sided or corner fireplace, so you can enjoy a view of the fire from several angles.
Can I buy directly from MCZ or online?
MCZ products are available exclusively through a selected network of specialized retailers and local distributors, carefully chosen to ensure proper installation and qualified after-sales service in your area.
It is not possible to purchase directly from MCZ—neither finished products nor accessories or spare parts.
Please note that some online websites may offer our products, but they are not always authorized dealers. For this reason, we strongly recommend relying only on official channels to ensure product authenticity and proper support.
Where can I find the prices of MCZ stoves?
MCZ has chosen not to publish the prices of its stoves. The price of the product makes up only part of the final quote. To this cost, a number of different elements will be added; these vary greatly depending on the installation circumstances in question. In order to be able to provide the most transparent and realistic price possible, a technical inspection is recommended, to enable us to identity the most suitable product and take account of all of the details. Installation and maintenance: what you need to know
Why is it important to have the installation carried out by a qualified technician?
The installation is only the last stage of a thorough analysis process of the state of things and heating needs of the client. It must only be carried out by a qualified professional to ensure compliance with current regulations and the manufacturer’s instructions, along with the exclusive use of suitable materials. As this is a delicate product involving important safety issues, DIY is definitely not an option.
Do I need to have an air inlet inside the room where the stove or fireplace is installed?
The air inlet inside the room of installation is required to enable the flow of oxygen necessary for correct combustion and to maintain a level of pressure within the room, so as to guarantee perfect draught along the flue. If it is not possible, or you do not wish to have an air inlet inside the room, you may prefer to choose “sealed” stoves, which work by only extracting oxygen from the outside (view all the models here).
Are there pellet or wood stoves that work without a chimney?
All stoves, whether pellet or wood-burning, require a proper flue system in order to operate correctly.
The combustion of biomass (wood or pellets) produces smoke, ash, and particulate matter that must be safely evacuated in accordance with current regulations, to protect both the health of the occupants and the integrity of the home environment.
Any installation without a chimney or flue compromises the safety of the system and results in the immediate voiding of the manufacturer's warranty.
How far can the hot air produced by a ducted stove be channeled? And what about a fireplace?
Confort Air stoves allow the hot air to be channeled to other rooms, up to approximately 8 meters away for each outlet. The actual length of the ducting must be carefully evaluated based on the specific layout of the system, taking into account factors such as insulation, bends, and other elements that may affect the efficiency of the system.
Fireplaces can also be equipped with hot air ducting using the Comfort Air kit, which allows hot air to be transported up to about 8 meters away per individual outlet. In this case as well, the effective length depends on the specific characteristics of the ducting, just like with stoves.
Is it possible to install a pellet or wood-burning product in a traditional house where there is a CMV system (controlled mechanical ventilation)?
If the product is sealed and installed in an airtight manner (for example by hermetically connecting the combustion air inlet on the outside), installation is possible without any limitation. If the product is not sealed, installation is permitted on condition that, with the product operating at nominal power and with all extracting appliances switched on (therefore flue, CMV, extraction hoods etc.) and closed doors/windows, the negative pressure in the premises does not exceed 4 Pa above the outside. Therefore, we recommend contacting your installers, who might appropriately calibrate the CMV or adequately increase the air inlets present.
Is it possible to install a pellet or wood-burning product in a passive house (or ClimateHouse)?
It is possible provided that the product is sealed and installed in an airtight manner (for example by hermetically connecting the combustion air inlet on the outside), that is, independent from the house.
How do I clean the interior of a pellet stove?
Cleaning a pellet stove is a simple task. You just need to clean the burn pot by removing any build-up, unless it's a Matic model, which features a self-cleaning system that activates automatically.
After that, you should clean the lower compartments, including the ash drawer, using a standard ash vacuum.
This makes cleaning the firebox a quick and easy task, to be performed only when needed.
How do I clean the stove or fireplace glass?
Normally, if installed correctly, just a small quantity of ash is deposited onto the glass, which can be easily removed with a dry brush. When scaling occurs, you may use a neutral glass spray that contains no abrasives. However, it should be used in small quantities and must not be sprayed on the stove’s painted parts or on the ceramic fibre seal of the fire door, as these parts can be easily damaged.
What is annual routine maintenance and who must I contact for this?
Once a year, usually at the end of the winter, you are required to contact a qualified technician for annual routine maintenance. This is a mandatory service intended to ensure the proper functioning, safety, and efficiency of your stove or fireplace (whether pellet or wood-burning).
It includes cleaning the burn pot, heat exchanger, and ducts; checking the seal integrity; inspecting electronic and mechanical components; and, if necessary, replacing worn parts. For this type of maintenance, you are always advised to contact an authorised MCZ Group service centre.
I am already an MCZ customer and have a query
I need to purchase a spare part, who should I contact?
Original MCZ accessories and spare parts cannot be sold directly to private customers; they must be exclusively requested via a retailer or service centre, which can then pass the order on to the company. As for common spare parts, such as the ceramic cladding, the brazier or the gasket for the pellet stove door, we recommend contacting the store where they were purchased or, failing that, any authorised MCZ retailer. As for spare parts such as spark plugs, the motherboard or other internal mechanical or electronic parts, we always recommend contacting your local technician, who, as well as placing the order, will also be able to replace the part and perform any tests
How does the warranty for a stove or fireplace work?
MCZ products are guaranteed for two years from the date of purchase (Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland) according to the sales receipt. The warranty covers the replacement or free repair of parts recognised as faulty at source due to manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover parts subject to normal wear and tear, such as gaskets, glass, and any parts which can be removed from the firebox. The warranty is declared null and void if the product is not installed and tested by a qualified technician, in accordance with current regulations and according to the detailed instructions included in the instruction manual supplied with the product.

It is normal to detect a strange paint odour during the first uses of a new stove ?
The odor perceived during the first few ignitions is due to the curing process of the paint, which occurs when the appliance reaches high temperatures.
This is a completely normal and harmless phenomenon, and it will disappear entirely after 2-3 uses.
To help eliminate the odor, simply ventilate the room well.
In the first two or three days, it is recommended to load the stove with plenty of wood or to run the pellet stove at maximum power for a few hours, in order to reach high temperatures that speed up the curing of the paint.
I think that my stove or fireplace is not heating up enough.
The causes relating to the production of insufficient heat may be the result of several reasons. The most common are a product not properly sized for the volume of the space to be heated, a non-compliant installation that does not ensure effective combustion, excessively long ducting, or the use of low-quality pellets. Failure to clean components such as filters, heat exchangers, and the burner grate negatively affects the product’s efficiency. To ensure optimal operation, it is important to perform regular routine cleaning and, if necessary, extraordinary cleaning.
The glass inside my stove regularly turns black, why is this?
If the installation of the product, the flue connection, as well as the chimney flue, has been done correctly (according to the guidelines provided in the product manual) and the correct combustion materials are used (pellets or wood), the combustion residues are dispersed via the flue and the stove or fireplace glass should not be subject to any type of encrustation, besides light ash residue. A local technician will be able to identify the precise cause, should dirt build up more frequently on the glass.
